The most highly-anticipated new title on Showtime this month is this brand new biographical drama miniseries that focuses on the fallout of the disastrous 1993 siege of Waco, Texas. In addition to covering the trials of surviving members of the Branch Davidian sect and the rise of domestic terrorist Timothy McVeigh, Waco: The Aftermath also offers broader context for the rise of the American militia movement that foreshadowed the deadly 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and storming of the U.S. Capital on January 6, 2021. Personality Crisis: One Night Only is a Showtime Original documentary film that takes a deep dive into the life and work of singer, songwriter, and actor David Johansen, who made a name for himself as the lead singer of notorious 1970s punk rock band the New York Dolls. In addition looking at Johansen’s past, the feature also highlights the singer’s more current work by focusing on an intimate 2020 cabaret performance at New York City’s Café Carlyle, and also emphasizes the profound influence Johansen has had and continue to has on the music and and cultural evolution of NYC.
