Searching for a new feminist action comedy movie to indulge yourself in? Look no further than Polite Society, which is coming to theaters this week. Luckily, we have you covered on all the ways you can watch this flick!

When Ria Khan — who is training in martial arts — believes she must save her recently-engaged sister from her soon-to-be marriage, she enlists her friends to help her pull off a “wedding heist” in the name of “independence and sisterhood.”

So where can you watch Polite Society? Will it be on HBO Max? What about Netflix?

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming movie:

As of now, the only way to watch Polite Society is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, April 28. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube or Apple.

While a streaming release date for Polite Society has not yet been announced, we can make an estimate on when it will come to Peacock based on another Focus Features film.

Armageddon Timewhich was released in theaters on Oct. 28, 2022, finally landed on Peacock on Feb. 17, 2023 — almost four months after its initial release. If Polite Society follows the same trajectory, we may not be able to stream it until mid-August 2023. But if it follows the 45-day strategy that most Peacock films use, it could come to the platform as early as mid-June 2023.

No, Polite Society will not be on HBO Max because it’s not a Warner Bros. movie. In the past, the company released its movies on HBO Max and in theaters at the same time. However, they have since stopped doing that and now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.

No, Polite Society will not be streaming on Netflix — at least not any time soon. In the meantime, you’ll just have to head out to a theater or wait for it to become available on Peacock.
